Koetsu was founded by Yoshiaki Sugano who was a boxer, artist, sword maker, automotive executive and lover of western classical music. Yoshiaki Sugano passed away in 2002 aged 95 but the legacy of Koetsu lived on with his son Fumihiko who having been an apprentice under his father and soon became a valued master cartridge maker in his own right. Fumihiko sadly passed away leaving many audiophiles sad that they will be unable to aquire these stunning gems again.
